Maternity and Dry Lake Bed

I must say, Maternity shoots are so intimate and loving to photograph, I feel honored anytime someone asks me to capture this fundamental time in their lives.  Especially when the Mom-to-be is as adventurous as I am!  Yes please!  Ariana is one of those Mom-to-Be's.  I gave her a few options to choose from for potential shoot locations and she immediately went for the Dry Lake Bed.  There wasn't even a hint of hesitation. I just said softly to myself,  'sweet'.  I absolutely love the atmosphere that a Dry Lake Bed brings to a shoot. So many interpretations.  In the case of a maternity shoot? I feel it speaks of a spirit coming to life. Birth and bringing joy, happiness and adventure into a beautiful family. Thank you Ariana for letting me have a small part in the beginning to your next adventure. See some of the photos below and let me know what you think?

Ronnie and Dave Johnson (Magic In The Air)

On March 13, 2016, I was honored and had the privilege of photographing two amazing friends; Ronnie and Dave Johnson.  Their story is Magic with a little Disney twist. I've known these two since a little after I moved to Las Vegas 7 years ago (holy cow, 7 years?). Time flies.  Dave is a magician on the Las Vegas scene and Ronnie a Singer/Performer (now a magician's quirky and beautiful assistant) Check out their website for any upcoming shows or bookings you might want to throw their way.  They are the warmest, most friendly and loving people I know and I truly am blessed to have captured and shared their day.  They also helped with my (hopeful someday it will be done soon, commercial) by getting back into the gown and suit for the video shoot. Balloons and Dry Lake Bed

Not going to lie, it's been a minute and with this pandemic, it's been a long minute.  4 months.  4 months of not being able to pick up the camera to have a living subject, however that changed last weekend when a friend (non-client) agreed to come out to do a photo shoot at the Dry Lake Bed near Boulder City.  I was more than excited, as not being able to create or photograph has been torture. Being laid off from my full-time job was a huge blow, as I know many Americans out there are facing the same situation; however reflecting, it has made me want to do photography full-time, so this particular photo shoot was especially therapeutic and just reminded me how much I miss creating. Vegas Balloon Twister was/is the ultimate first subject back, as we collaborated a concept of her balloon making expertise with a few smoke bombs on the Dry Lake Bed.  With this session, she made a balloon dress, custom made (and can custom make one for you) that she wanted to show off h...
